Mrs. SUE ROBERSON CROUCH

CROWLEY -- Sue Roberson Crouch passed away peacefully Thursday evening, Oct. 26, 2016, one day after her 82nd birthday. Service: The Burial Service with celebration of Holy Communion will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3401 Bellaire Drive South. Following committal prayers, she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Joe, in Laurel Land Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Great Room at Robertson Mueller Harper. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the American Red Cross, the Trinity Episcopal Church Memorial or Building Fund, or The American Heart Association, in her memory, is suggested. Born in Fort Worth on Oct. 25, 1934, Sue was the daughter of John Franklin and Hazel Lucille Kirkland Roberson. She traveled with her family throughout childhood attending 17 elementary schools in four different states. After graduating from Arlington High School, she earned an associate of business administration from Arlington State College, now the University of Texas at Arlington, and was awarded a bachelor of business administration in office management from Baylor University. Sue married Joe Walter Crouch Jr. on Oct. 11, 1964, and enjoyed an extremely happy marriage for 38 years until his death in 2002. They were partners not only in life, but also in business, running the Joe Crouch Dairy Farm until semi-retirement in 1996. They traveled extensively with their three children, including to Europe on several occasions. After her husband died, she continued her world travels with her daughter, sons and granddaughters, ultimately visiting all 50 states, more than 35 countries and six of the seven world continents, including Antarctica. Upon retiring from the dairy farm business, Sue re-entered the business world to work at Edward Jones Investments as a branch office administrator in Crowley, retiring as senior branch office administrator in 2005. She had previously worked for Continental Oil Company, Paul DeCleva Oil Companies, the state of Washington, Boeing and Bell Helicopter. Mrs. Crouch was a longtime active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Fort Worth. She served as a member and officer of the Altar Guild, and was flower chairman, and vestment procurement chairman. Mrs. Crouch served on the vestry for three years and as the vestry secretary for an additional nine years. Community service included 33 years as a member and officer of the Crowley Independent School District Board of Trustees. She was deeply moved when the school district dedicated Sue Crouch Intermediate School in her honor in 2006. She held multiple offices in the Crowley ISD PTA, and held offices at the county and district levels. She was a long-term member of the Ambassadors of the Crowley Area Chamber of Commerce and a charter member of the Lions Club. Mrs. Crouch served as president of District 6 Associated Milk Producers (AMPI) Auxiliary and second vice president for the Southern Region of AMPI. She volunteered many hours to the Crowley Public Library and worked several years for the Share the Love program of the House of Hope. On Feb. 6, 2014, the Crowley Area Chamber of Commerce presented her with the Cornerstone Award for longtime community services. Survivors: In addition to her daughter, Karen Danette Crouch, Sue is survived by her sons, Joe Walter Crouch III and John Franklin Crouch; and granddaughters, Anna, Atalie and Ava.
