BERNIE WHITLA CANNING

Fort Worth, Texas - Bernie Whitla Anderson passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, October 5.  He was 81.

Born in Fort Worth, Whitt was the son of Bernie and Mary Jane Ross Anderson Canning.  A former sports writer for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and author of several books, he was the grandson of Bernie L. Anderson and great-grandson of Neil P. Anderson, longtime Fort Worth residents.

Whitt is survived by his wife, Brenda Lee Timbes Canning.

Following cremation, his cremated remains were placed privately in the Anderson Mausoleum in Oakwood Cemetery.
