Billy S. Barnett, 82, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his loving wife, on August 31, 2025. Born in Temple, Texas, Billy built a life of love, service, and devotion to family, friends, and community.
A skilled Commercial Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractor, Billy was especially admired for his copper work. His career reflected his dedication to craftsmanship and excellence. Beyond his profession, he was deeply committed to his Masonic life, serving as a 32° Mason, and a member of the Scottish Rite, Worth Commander’s, Jesters, and York Rite.
Billy retired 25 years ago and filled his days with travel, volunteer service at Baylor Scott & White All Saints, and time with his family and friends. Though he faced Parkinson’s disease for 28 years, he met every challenge with courage and resilience, inspiring all who knew him.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. N. Alan Davenport, Dr. Susan Blue, Dr. Robin Roberts, respite giver Reina and the compassionate team at St. Gabriel’s Hospice—April, Marie, Maria, Renee, and Marie—for their extraordinary care and support.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Sonny, Gene, and Charlie, and sister, Jimmie.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, Pam, Billy leaves behind his children, Denise, Lori, and Chad; grandchildren, Matthew and Autumn; two great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy and his wife, Pam; sister-in-law, Frankie; and numerous cousins and “priceless” friends.
Family and friends will gather from 1 to 3 pm Sunday, September 7, in the Great Room at Harper & Lucas, formerly Robertson Mueller Harper. A Service at the Grave will be held at 10:00 am Monday at Rose Hill Memorial Park with a Celebration of His Life at 2:00 pm Monday at Harper & Lucas.
In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the National Parkinson’s Association or Shriners Hospitals for Children, in Billy’s memory, is suggested.
Billy will be remembered as a devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend. His kindness, strength, and faith will remain a legacy in the lives of those he loved.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7
