Fort Worth

Fort Worth, Texas - Christopher Ryan Wilshire went to be with our Lord and Savior on October 21, 2022 at the age of 33 years.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm Thursday, January 19, in the Chapel at Christ Chapel Bible Church, 3701 Birchman Avenue, with a reception to follow in the church’s Oak Room.   A Livestream of the service will be available at ccbcfamily.org/memorials.

Raised in Fort Worth where he lived his entire life, Chris developed a passion for the outdoors at an early age and became an avid hunter, fisherman, and cattle rancher. He established Rockin W Cattle Co LLC at the age of 14 and spent the rest of his life raising cattle.

Chris attended Calvary Christian Academy where he met his loving wife, Tayla Cox, and graduated from there in 2007. He graduated from Texas Christian University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications.  He and Tayla were married on January 10, 2015.

Raised in and around the family business, Wilshire Consultants, Inc., Chris became a registered representative and Financial Advisor with Avantax Financial Services, formerly H D Vest, and joined the family business full time as President in 2009.

Chris had a servant’s heart and treated others with love and respect. He was the type of person to pull over on the side of the road and help someone in need. Chris had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. He cherished the time he was able to spend with his family and friends.

Chris obtained the rank of Eagle Scout from The Boy Scouts of America in 2007 and received awards for hunting, including the Youth Hunter of the Year (2001- 2002) from the Trophy Game Records of the World. He was awarded the TCU Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2007 by Texas Christian University and Texas Governor Rick Perry.

He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity, The Fort Worth Club, Christ Chapel Bible Church, and The Financial Planning Association. Chris was also a member of the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, American Quarter Horse Association, Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, Chairman of the Equine Scholarship Committee, member the Parade Committee and the Equine Greeting Committee.  His memberships also included the National Eagle Scout Association, and the National Directory of Registered Tax Return Preparers and Professionals.

Chris is survived by his wife Tayla, his mother, Helen Wilshire, his father, Rick Wilshire, and many other loving relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Christopher Wilshire Memorial Equine Scholarship Fund at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, P.O.  Box 150, Fort Worth, TX 76101.
