Mrs. DAGMAR MARIE JUNGERMAN ANDERSON

FORT WORTH -- Marie Jungerman Anderson went to be with Jesus, her Lord, on Monday evening, November 12, 2018. She was 86 years old. MEMORIAL SERVICE: A Celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3621 Tulsa Way, near the Will Rogers Coliseum, in the Arts District. A reception will follow the service. MEMORIALS: Considerations of contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church, 3621 Tulsa Way, Fort Worth, TX 76107 or a charity of your choice, in her memory, would be appreciated. Marie was born to Benno and Dagmar Antonson Jungerman in Port Arthur on October 10, 1932. Due to her father’s work, they moved from the coast to Godley, a small town near Cleburne where she attended school and graduated from Cleburne High School in 1950. Marie and her family attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Worth where she was confirmed in May, 1948. She met Edward Anderson at Trinity, and upon her graduation from high school, they married June 17, 1950. They made their home in Fort Worth where Ed was employed with Texas Electric Service Company. Upon the completion of her children Ben and Rose’s education, Marie enrolled in North Texas University in 1972. Taking courses there and at Texas Women’s University and Texas A&M, she graduated with almost a 4.0 GPA with a degree in library science and a teaching certificate. She began her teaching career in Cedar Hill Middle School as a life earth science/geology teacher, then eventually became the librarian. She retired from education in 2000. She and Ed traveled extensively to most of the parts of the United States and Europe. Marie’s lifelong interests in music, the arts, travel, playing bridge, reading and learning never waned. However, her greatest joy and passions were her relationships with Ed, family, friends and her Lord Jesus Christ. Marie was always considered by all who knew her to be a loyal and loving friend. She was always a lady. Our family owes a special thanks to Evangeline Castro who has helped and cared for Marie in such a loving and tender manner the last 7 years. Marie was especially grateful for the loving ministry at Trinity Lutheran of Pastor Kendra Mohn and special “sweet helpers” Wally and Pat Diehl, Karen and David Berning and Diane Walker, who afforded Marie the opportunity to still be a vital member of Trinity and stay in touch. Marie lost her husband and love of 66+ years in February, 2017. SURVIVORS: Marie is survived by her son, Ben Anderson and his wife, Celeste; her daughter, Rose Anderson Thomas and her husband, Pat McLean; grandchildren, Jordan Anderson and his wife, Annie, and Heather Gingrich and her husband, Troy; along with four great-grandchildren, Magnolia and Phoenix Anderson, and Sarah and Will Gingrich; and dear cousins and friends. She was blessed to spend time with step-grandchildren, Jesse McLean and his wife, Maggie and Karen McLean; as well as twin step great-granddaughters, Keegan and Olivia McLean; and was thrilled to be included in fun family gatherings with her daughter’s other step-children, Molly Doherty and Sean Hensley and Josh and Dawn Doherty, as well as their children, Jacob, Jaden and Drake Hensley and Will Doherty. “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Mrs. DAGMAR MARIE JUNGERMAN ANDERSON please visit our Sympathy Store.
