Fort Worth, Texas - Dalton H. Cobb Jr., age 72, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 16. Born in Midland, where he grew up and attended Midland High School, Dalton was the son of Sammie Lee and Dalton H. Cobb Sr.
After high school, Dalton and his childhood friend, Blake Yarbrough, known as hellraisers who had a tendency to mess around, attended New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) because their parents felt like they needed some discipline for their wild ways. After NMMI, Dalton attended Texas Christian University where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity and made lifelong friends.
Following college, Dalton became a land man in the oil business in Midland. He then moved to Austin where he found his passion in music and entertainment. He was talented with the harmonica and played with local musicians, including Rusty Weir at the famous Broken Spoke where he met his wife, Lezlie.
Dalton and Lezlie spent most of their marriage and life in Fort Worth. He enjoyed playing golf, going to TCU sporting events, spending time with his dogs, especially his beloved standard poodle Annabelle, breakfast at Yogi’s and vacationing in Carmel, CA.
In addition to his wife, Lezlie, Dalton is survived by his brother, Michael Cobb and his wife, Lisa; his nephew and niece, Kaleb Cobb and Kylie Cobb Williams; and his mother-in-law, Jolene Boone.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 2, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3401 Bellaire Dr. S., Fort Worth, TX 76109.
