Edward Joe Polasek, 101, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025.
Edward was born in Fort Worth on October 13, 1924. He was the eldest child and only son of Joe Frank Polasek and Millie Kristina (Bartek) Polasek. Edward proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War as a Sonar and Radar expert, attaining the rank of Chief. After his Navy service, Edward earned a degree in Physics and Math from TCU before building a long career with General Dynamics. He was known by those around him for his steady work ethic and willingness to help anyone in need.
Edward is survived by his sisters, Georgie (Polasek) White and Jeanette (Polasek) Chambless; his children, Edward Joe Polasek Jr., Ronald Lynn Polasek, Laura Ann (Polasek) Jones, and Belinda Lois (Polasek) Kalmoe; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Edward was preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 75 years, Betty Lois (McElroy) Polasek; his daughter, Sandra Lee McGrath; and his grandson, Randy Allen Kalmoe.
A visitation and a memorial service will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Harper & Lucas Funeral Home, 1500 8th Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104. Military Honors will be given at 2:30 pm Monday at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
