Gerry King Pruett

Gerry King Pruett was born on February 13, 1951, and died peacefully on January 9, 2026. She grew up in Farmersville, Texas, and later made Fort Worth her home — a place she loved deeply and was proud to belong.

Strong-willed and resilient, Gerry was a devoted daughter, a beloved wife, a cherished mother, and a loyal friend. She married the love of her life, Bill R. Pruett, on June 30, 1973, and together they built a home filled with warmth, creativity, and excitement — embracing adventure side by side. She worked with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and later taught middle school English at Wedgewood. Gerry found joy in reading with her book club, supper club gatherings, camping trips, and in creating family traditions. From elaborate Halloween costumes to backyard birthday parties filled with games and laughter, she delighted in bringing joy to those around her.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Bill R. Pruett; her parents, Gladys and Jesse R. King; and her brother, Gary King.

She is survived by her sons, Jordan Pruett and Paul Richter; her daughter, Jessica Pruett; her daughter-in-law, Sarah Brain Pruett; and her beloved grandchildren, Everett, Karra, and Thorin.

A private service will be held for family.
