Mrs. HELEN LOUISE CAMERON CLIFTON

Fort Worth -- Helen Louise Cameron Clifton passed away Wednesday, March 10, just before her 89th birthday. Born in Wyandotte, Michigan, Helen was one of three daughters lovingly raised by Donald James and Lucy Elliott Reynolds Cameron. She grew up in Wyandotte attending Theodore Roosevelt High School, where she proudly served as editor in chief of the school paper. Helen married Edward George Clifton, known as Ted. Ted’s job with General Dynamics brought them to Texas where they raised 5 babies, Donnie, David, Richard, Nancy, and Janet. As the children grew, Helen worked for Alcon Laboratories where she met many who have remained dear friends into retirement. She taught us how to make a home a home, the beauty of the fine arts, the peacefulness of setting sail, the ceremony of gourmet cooking, the value of family tradition, and the proper way to excuse oneself from the dinner table. In addition to two of her five children, her daughter, Nancy Harris and son, Richard Clifton, Helen is loved by four grandchildren and their spouses, Samuel Clifton and his wife, Amy, Cameron Clifton, Jessica Underbrink and her husband, Richard, and Joshua Harris; six great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Finley Clifton, Quinn Clifton, and Fisher, Dylan, and Lucy Underbrink. She is also survived by her sister, Donna Theeck; her former husband, Ted Clifton; daughter-in-law, Lynne Clifton; cousin, Marge Priebe and family; and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. A memorial service for the family will be held in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at University Christian Church on Saturday morning, March 20.
