JOHN DUDLEY "Buddy" BRUTSCHE Jr.

Buddy was born in Dallas, TX to Mary Jane and Dudley Brutsche before they moved to Ft. Worth where he graduated from Paschal High School and later Texas Wesleyan University. A lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth (FUMCFW), Buddy was part of the team that co-founded and ran the FUMCFW Television broadcast for decades.

He met his best friend and soul mate, Priscilla, at church and married on April 19, 1975. They enjoyed gourmet club, traveling through Europe, and watching their family grow with the addition of many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Buddy spent the last decade of his life at the Vantage at Cityview where he served as the co-chair of the Resident’s Council and the Staff Christmas Appreciation Fundraiser. He was beloved by so many who will remember his quick wit, endless dad jokes, and most importantly, his kindness to everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pris Brutsche, and his parents. 

Buddy is survived by his daughter and daughter-in-law Stephanie and Jolynn Brutsche; daughter and son-in-law, Staci and Tom Stager; son Tony Brutsche, stepson and daughter-in-law, Jon and Jennifer Traver; stepdaughter Tracy Traver Hutto; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and John White, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Buddy’s Life will be held at 11am Saturday, July 11, in the Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, 800 W. Fifth Street. Family and friends will gather in the church’s Wesley Hall immediately following the service. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Buddy's memory to the charity of your choice.
