LINDA LU HOSTLER WOODARD

Linda Lu Hostler Woodard, 72, of Weatherford, Texas died July 12, 2026.

Born September 27, 1953 to Ralph and Lucile Hostler in Chicago, Illinois, Linda moved with her family as an adolescent to Fort Worth and lived her entire life in the Fort Worth and Weatherford areas.

Linda met her husband of 54 years, Edmond (Ed) Davis Woodard, Jr. as a teenager on a blind date. She and Ed were married as young adults at 18 years old on April 8, 1972 and enjoyed a lifetime together. They raised three children: Edmond Davis III (Trey), Melissa Leigh, and Kimberly Jean.

She graduated from Eastern Hills High School. When her kids were growing up, she spent countless hours as a dedicated school volunteer, Girl Scout Leader, baseball, dance, cheer and swim mom. She then earned a Nursing Degree at Tarrant County College and spent many years as a dedicated Oncology nurse at Harris Hospital and for Vitas Home Health.

Linda was a passionate host who enjoyed pulling people in her life together for extravagant Halloween parties, her annual Cookie Party complete with Santa, and her infamous Easter Celebrations with a rowdy Easter Egg hunt. She was quick to love and be loved, creating a sense of belonging and importance. She was passionate about cooking, even opening her own bakery with a friend earning her the moniker “Pie” (grammy).

She enjoyed many adventures. Each year her children and their spouses were treated to quality time with Pie and Pops on the high seas. These memories will be cherished. She enjoyed countless trips with friends, family and her husband trotting around the globe to various ports, passes, and peaks.

Her sense of warmth, welcoming and ability to make people feel that they are important and valued will be treasured and remembered. She was able to create a memorable adventure in an instant and never said no to an escapade.

Linda is survived by her husband Ed; son, Trey (and Casey), and daughters, Melissa (and Brian) and Kimberly (and Ben). She loved her six grandchildren to the moon: Hannah Lee, Beckett Davis, Emory Grace, Greenlea Lucile, Jude Jeffrey, and Sawyer Quinn. She is also survived by her brothers, Richard [Rick] (and Kelly, who was like a sister to her), Matthew (and Rhonda), Paul (and Alex); brother-in-law Gene, who was her devoted pal (and Kathy), and sister-in-law, Jennifer (and Joe). She had many beloved cousins and one special “Aunt” Kathy who was a sister in every sense of the word. She had many nieces and nephews, too, that were doted on.

She will be missed by many dear friends who were like family and without whom her life or theirs would not have been the same.

Family and friends will gather from 5:00 to 7:00pm Friday, July 17, in the Great Room at Harper & Lucas, formerly Robertson Mueller Harper, 1500 Eighth Ave. Fort Worth 76104. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am Saturday, July 18, 2026, at All Saints’ Anglican Church, 121 S. Waco St., Weatherford 76086., with a Committal Service at 2:00pm in Greenwood Memorial Park, 3344 White Settlement Rd. Fort Worth 76107.
