FORT WORTH -- Mary Herman Kuperman, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully Friday evening, May 11, 2012, during her 98th year following a brief illness. Service: 3 p.m. Sunday in the Kornbleet Memorial Cemetery Chapel, located in Ahavath Sholom Cemetery, 411 N. University Drive, with Rabbi Ralph Mecklenburger of Beth-El Congregation officiating. Following committal prayers, she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Aaron. Shiva and minyan services will be held at the home of Lester and Pam Kuperman, beginning at 6 p.m. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to Beth-El Congregation or Congregation Ahavath Sholom, in Mary's memory, is suggested. Born in Chicago, Ill., on Feb. 3, 1914, Mary was the daughter of Max and Sarah Daiches Herman. She came to Fort Worth, with her parents, at the age of 1. After graduating from Central High School, now R.L. Paschal, she attended Texas Christian University. Mary married Aaron Kuperman on Jan. 20, 1935. They lived in Breckenridge where they owned a ladies' ready-to-wear shop. While in Breckenridge, she was active in the Breckenridge Woman's Club and the Woman's Forum. After moving to Fort Worth in 1972, she joined the Woman's Club of Fort Worth. She enjoyed the Lecture Foundation, the Garden Club and the Edna Newby lectures. Mary was a life member of Hadassah. A keen bridge player until she was 95, she regularly won bridge tournaments. Mary was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks, rarely missing a game watched from her home. She had a keen sense of humor, enjoying all types of social activities, and especially delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors: In addition to her children, Dr. Lester Kuperman and his wife, Pam, David Kuperman and his wife, Paula, and Phyllis Kuperman Glickman, Mary is survived by her grandchildren, Jeffrey and Lisa Kuperman, Zachary Kuperman, Alex and Allison Kuperman, Kelly Kuperman Meyers and Craig and Stephanie Glickman Harmon and Eric; and great-grandchildren, Liam Kuperman, Max Kuperman, Ava Kuperman, Stella Kuperman and Katie Harmon.
