MELANEE S. WYATT POSEY

Oct 5, 1956 — Sep 4, 2026

Aledo

Melanee S. Posey, 69, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She was born on October 5, 1956, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Gerald and Suzanne Wyatt. The family moved to Fort Worth in 1969, and Texas was home from then on. Melanee graduated from Southwest High School in 1976 and went on to nursing school. On July 17, 2008, she married Terry Posey, and together they made their home in Aledo for 18 years.

Melanee was one of the most loyal, compassionate, and kind-hearted people you could ever come across. She helped open City View Hospital as a nurse, and she was there to help close its doors as well. For 31 years she devoted her life to caring for others — a calling that continued long after her nursing career ended.

She volunteered alongside her parents, her brother, and her husband for the Shriners. Her passion for helping those who needed it most never wavered. In later years she found joy in ballroom dancing with Arthur Murray and competed in multiple competitions.

Melanee was raised in Central Christian Church, where she sang in the choir and was a devoted and active member. She cherished her time on the family farm in Elk Falls, Kansas, the town where her mother was born. She was a devout Christian, a forgiving mother, a loving daughter, and an amazing wife.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Posey; her daughter, Grace Storms and her husband, Nick; her grandsons, Odin Coleson Storms and Raiden Wyatt Storms; her brother, Jerry Wyatt and his wife, Christian; her nephews, Charles "C.J." Wyatt and Zachary Wyatt; and many cousins and extended family who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Suzanne Wyatt.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Central Christian Church, 3205 Hamilton Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76107.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
