After four years of active duty, serving from the Northeastern United States to Southeast Asia, he resigned his commission and returned to civilian life. Mike and Nancy moved to Dallas, where he was employed by Mobile Oil Corporation. In 1971, they relocated to Tyler, Texas. Mike’s business ventures included auditing, accounting and investments with additional licenses and practice in appraising, insurance and real estate.  After retiring and raising their children, they relocated to Fort Worth in 2009, where they were members of Christ Chapel Bible Church.

Mike and Nancy have 2 children. Kimberly Fleming Kirk and Michael Brian Fleming. Mike was a wonderful husband, father, caregiver, friend, and teacher. Mike accepted Jesus as a child and lived a life of faith knowing Jesus was his personal Savior. He taught us to love others first and take care of the underdog.  Mike was very supportive of his children through their accomplishments and difficulties. Mike was an avid sports fan especially for his Alma Mater TCU, closely following and rooting on the Horned Frogs.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Fleming and her husband, James Fleming, who adopted Mike at the age of 5 after the death of Mike’s father, Marion Parish.
