Stephen Patrick Joyner, 82, was born in Clarksville, Texas, on August 5, 1943, to A.C. and Katherine Joyner. He entered his heavenly home on May 27, 2026, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Steve moved to Fort Worth in 1958 with his parents. In 1968, he married the love of his life, Michelle, beginning a beautiful partnership of almost 58 years, raising their two beautiful daughters together. He spent many fulfilling years connecting with people through his work in sales across the Fort Worth area.
A devout Christian, Steve’s deep faith led him to become a layman pastor. He ministered to his community with a servant's heart, officiating many weddings and funerals and delivering sermons at area churches. To Steve, a stranger was just a friend he hadn't met yet, and he was always ready with a warm smile and a good joke. A lifelong, passionate fan of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys, he loved sports of all kinds and brought that same enthusiastic, joyful spirit to every part of his life. His keen sense of humor and uplifting nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.C. and Katherine Joyner.
Steve leaves behind a beautiful legacy and is survived by his loving wife of almost 58 years, Michelle; his daughters, Kelly Maxwell and her husband, Doug, and Summer Jones and her husband, Jason; and his cherished grandchildren, Mallory and Carly Maxwell, and Kessler, Cohen, and Veteran Jones.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Steve's remarkable life.
